With the current uncertainty in the job market, are you afraid that you may be made redundant?
Are you bored with your present job?
Are you tired of taking orders from the boss?
Or maybe you’re unemployed or looking for a new career.
If so, why not train to become a DSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
Benefits of being a driving instructor:
Job security – The job of a driving instructor is always in high demand. It doesn’t matter if the economy is in a recession, people will still need to learn to drive. Infact, in a recession, there is more demand as people strive to increase their practical skills in order to land a job.
Be your own boss – No more taking orders from anyone. You run your business the way you want. You are THE BOSS.
Work the hours you want – No more asking the boss for overtime, or permission for a day off. You decide the hours you want to work. You can work as and when you want.
Job satisfaction – Everyday is different. Every pupil, every lesson is different. The best thing about being a driving instructor is knowing that you’re doing a job that makes a difference to other peoples lives.
Earnings – A fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor can earn anything up to 40k p.a. But as a general rule, you write your own check – The more hours you put in, the more you’ll earn.
To start training as a driving instructor, no formal qualifications or previous experience is required. The legal requirements are:
You must have held a full driving licence for at least 3 1/2 years.
You must be able to read a number plate from a 27.5m (90 feet) distance.
You must have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
You must have a CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau check). You should have no serious criminal record.
Exams:
To qualify as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) you will need to pass 3 tests:
Part 1: Computer-based theory and hazard perception test
100 multiple choice questions plus a hazard perception test. You will need 85% to pass – 1.5 hours
Part 2: Practical test of driving ability
This is a test of your driving ability with a senior DSA Examiner.
Part 3: Practical test of instructional ability
This is the final part of your qualifying process. Once you have passed this test, you will be a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
All three tests have to be taken in order starting from part 1. All three tests must be completed within two years of passing part 1. Once you have passed part 3 of the qualifying exams, you are guaranteed a full franchise with Pass and Go Driving School.
COST OF TRAINING
All Instructor training is charged on a pay as you go rate of £28 per hour. no deposit required.
With so many driving schools offering instructor training, why should you choose to train with Pass and Go Driving School?
Most driving schools expect you to pay the full cost of the course before the training begins, and offer no refunds should you fail the first two parts. At Pass and Go Driving School you pay separately for each part. Therefore there will be no further cost to you, if for some reason you don’t make it past parts 1 or 2.
You won’t need to take any time off from your current job, or drive miles away from your home to the training location. We will arrange your training around your current job at a location which is convenient to you.
Once you have passed part 2 of your qualifying exams, Pass and Go Driving School will sponsor you. This means that you can get a trainee licence (PDI), which will allow you to work as a paid driving instructor, whilst still training for part 3. This will allow you to earn back the cost of the course fee.
Although our prices are probably the cheapest you will find in Birmingham, please do not be misled – This in no way implies either lesser quality or any form of skimping on training. We’ve kept these prices low because we want you to qualify as soon as possible, so that you can work for us. The sooner you qualify, the sooner you start working for us and the sooner we start earning money together. You will of course be free to work independently as you wish.
